Third grade students at Ballard East Elementary recently had an exciting visit from Story County Conservation for their Extreme Reptiles program. The hands-on session introduced students to fascinating reptile adaptations, sparking a deep interest in these remarkable creatures.
The students played a game that simulated the challenges faced by turtle eggs and hatchlings, gaining a better understanding of why turtles lay so many eggs. To wrap up the session, the class collaborated to design their own reptiles, adapting them to various environments and challenges.
It was a fun and educational experience that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and a greater appreciation for the natural world. A big thank you to Story County Conservation for making learning so engaging!
