BHS student council members involved in the Reading at East and West Elementary program have been visiting 3rd grade classrooms every other Friday since November to read stories that align with the Character Strong curriculum. In November, they focused on books about gratitude, and in December, they are reading stories that highlight empathy.
The 3rd graders have been loving the experience of listening to high school students read, while also learning valuable character traits. This ongoing partnership is a great way to reinforce important life lessons through engaging stories!
